The last meeting of the SAE International AC-9C Aircraft Icing Technology Committee was held virtually on 18-21 October 2021.
The SENS4ICE project was represented at this meeting with four presentations:
- The SENS4ICE EU project: SENSors and certifiable hybrid architectures for safer aviation in ICing Environment by Carsten Schwarz from the German Aerospace Center (DLR)
- Collins Ice Differentiator Sensor by El Hassan Ridouane and Galdemir Botura from Collins Aerospace
- AIP: Atmospheric Icing Patches by Ian Roberts from AeroTex
- LILD: Local Ice Layer Detector by Martin Pohl from the German Aerospace Center (DLR)
The peak number of participants during the SENS4ICE session on Thursday 21st of October reached almost 70. The audience was very interested in the latest SENS4ICE activities addressing many questions and generating fruitful discussions. The SENS4ICE consortium thanks the AC-9C Aircraft Icing Technology Committee for the possibility to disseminate the project’s achievements to such a large, specialised audience.
