In April 2022, the SENS4ICE partner ATR performed a three-day ground test on the SAFIRE ATR-42 aircraft.

The objective was to:

  • validate the acquisition of the Flight Data Acquisition Unit (FDAU) parameters by a dedicated acquisition system (ACRA),
  • check avionics non-interference by the FDAU/ACRA installation;
  • evaluate latency time induced by the FDAU/ACRA system.

The results of the ground test are in line with the expectations: aircraft parameters were acquired by the ACRA system and no disturbance was observed on the aircraft avionics. Also, the latency time between aircraft parameters capturing (FDAU/ACRA system) and relevant availability in the Test Installation for New Aircraft (IENA) frame was lower than expected.
