SENS4ICE is part of the projects contributing to the goals of the Flightpath 2050, with the focus on safety as on of the EU policy priorities.

Safety is at the core of European air-transport policy. According to the Flightpath 2050 vision, the number of accidents should be further reduced. The weather and other hazards from the environment should be efficiently evaluated and the risks properly mitigated. Efforts should be focused on developing a holistic approach to aviation safety, thanks to the support of new safety management, safety assurance and certification techniques.
