In December 2021 the SENS4ICE consortium concluded the project year N° 3 and at the same time the official reporting period N° 2.

In the project review meeting on 14 December 2021 the project status and achievements were assessed and well perceived by the CINEA Project Officer, an external independent reviewer and the SENS4ICE Advisory Board. Despite the Covid-19 related delays the first project phase was successfully completed including the:

• ice detection technology development,
• icing wind tunnel enhancement
• and icing wind tunnel testing of sensors.

Based on the icing wind tunnel sensor results the ice detection technologies have been evaluated and selected for flight testing. The project focus is now shifted towards flight test preparation for the flight testing in natural icing conditions planned for early 2023.
