Teaming up with CINEA to showcase SENS4ICE at ILA Berlin 2022!

SENS4ICE was invited to present one of the project's ice detection sensors under development at the stand of the European Commission at ILA Berlin 2022. In addition, a SENS4ICE video highlighted some of the project activities performed in 2021 and 2022 and another video particularly explained the Fiber Bragg Grating Sensors Ice Detection technology developed by the partner Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial «Esteban Terradas» (INTA).

The Fiber Optic ice Detector (FOD) hardware developed by Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial «Esteban Terradas»  (INTA) was on display during the Trade Visitors days. This was supported by the project representatives José Roman Ganzer (Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial «Esteban Terradas»), Carsten Schwarz and Johannes Lucke (both German Aerospace Center (DLR)). The project officer of the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) for SENS4ICE Hugues Felix was also at the stand to set the aircraft icing research in the European Commission's perspective on aviation research.

In addition, a SENS4ICE video highlighted some of the project activities performed in 2021 and 2022 and another video particularly explained INTA's Fiber Bragg Grating Sensors Ice Detection technology.

Both profound visitor's interest and CINEA's dedicated support are greatly appreciated! As part of networking activities, CINEA's project officer Hugues Felix and SENS4ICE project coordinator Carsten Schwarz met the National Research Council Canada / Conseil national de recherches Canada delegation at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) stand. National Research Council Canada / Conseil national de recherches Canada joined the SENS4ICE project beginning of 2021 and since then provided valuable contributions for icing wind tunnel testing of ice detection sensors, including INTA’s FOD.
